Nasal Reshaping (Rhinoplasty)

Like other cosmetic surgeries, nasal reshaping (rhinoplasty) is a combination of art and science. Because surgery is not an exact science, some of the factors involved in producing the final results are not within the control of the surgeon. Other aspects, however, help Los Angeles surgeon, Dr. Fodor, to predict whether or not a patient is a good candidate. These include thickness and shape of the nasal bones and cartilage, the shape of the face, heredity, age, and thickness and condition of the nasal skin. The skin is especially important with nasal surgery because thick skin precludes the creation of a delicate nasal tip.

Rhinoplasty Consultation

The nose is one of the main balancing features of the face. Therefore, during a nasal reshaping consultation it is recommend that patients consider rhinoplasty in conjunction with other plastic surgery procedures, when appropriate. For example, the chin is often augmented or altered along with the nose, particularly if it is recessed or small in size. Before Dr. Fodor recommends rhinoplasty surgery, he must properly understand the structure of a patient’s face, which means having a consultation for the rhinoplasty in his Los Angeles or Aspen office.
